While custom orthotic insoles are crafted to the exact specifications of your foot, you should still expect a break-in period. There can be a number of reasons for this. In addition to the insole itself needing to loosen up and conform to your stride and mechanics, your foot will also need to slowly adjust to the orthotic. The time period for this can vary among different orthotics, with it varying anywhere from one to four weeks.

By slowly adjusting your feet and mechanics to your new orthotics, you can give yourself a better chance of success and effectiveness. Guidelines for breaking in our custom orthotics
Our experts designed Biocorrect Custom Foot Orthotics to be used quickly and conveniently. When you receive your pair of inserts, simply place them on top of your existing shoe liners and begin wearing them. If you prefer, you can also remove your shoe liners and just use your orthotics by themselves.
To ensure proper break-in and maximum support and comfort, please follow these guidelines:
- Complete orthotic break-in should take about a week.
- Start with small intervals and slowly work your way up.
- Your first wear should be around one to three hours.
- Increase wear time by two hours a day until your foot is accustomed to the inserts.
Everyone is different, and it’s important to listen to your body and not try to do too much too soon. Even if you find yourself adjusting quicker, it’s still recommended to take your time and stay within the guidelines.
